Happy Golden 30th Birthday Sarah!

Category: Portraits | March 6th, 2017

What could be better than celebrating a special birthday? When I told Sarah my plan for a fun smash the cake type photo shoot she jumped on board. I sent her a few of my ideas and we even included her cute dog Gadget -who I met at her engagement session. (I love this dog!) A big thanks to her friends who helped with makeup and hair and as well as testing the light, holding the reflector, calling the dog and zipping up her shoes backwards and upside down- shew I put these girls to work! But we had snacks and wine so it was so much fun! Sarah I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos!

Rustic Elegance at Canopy Creek Farm

Category: Favorites | March 8th, 2018

When Natasha Randall, at Unlimited Events asked us to be a part of a fun photo-shoot we couldn’t wait to see what she had planned. The farm venue is such a beautiful venue filled with many different areas for photos. Natasha says, “Our inspiration for the photo shoot began with an Unlimited Events ‘Babcock’ settee. A luxurious, deep burgundy with gold trim was to be the focal point for photos in the meadow overlooking Canopy Creek’s pond. It was important to both Canopy Creek and Unlimited Events to highlight the event space and not hide it.”

“With the deep color of the ‘Babcock’ settee and the warm honey tone of the venue serving as the inspiration, it was only natural to emphasize the space with a range of hues in the same color family. A warm palette of champagne, dusty pink and merlot paired nicely with the rustic, wooden attributes of the venue,” says Natasha.

Copper Inspired Sweetheart Table

Category: Favorites | December 1st, 2017

I have to admit that I love a good celebration! This look was inspired by the warm tones in these wonderful copper lanterns. When Oriental Trading contacted me about creating a look I couldn’t wait to order. The items came very quickly and it was like Christmas opening so many boxes. My favorite project was finishing the look for the glass terrarium. I used Minwax in a classic gray to stain the base of the terrarium with two coats. After it was dry the washi tape was added around the middle to finish the look. It is a great way to hold advice or notes to the couple while they are at their sweetheart table. The boxwood garland was plenty long and I loved following the natural bend to know where to put the lanterns. To finish the look I weaved magnolia branches into  the front of the design. The large candle in the middle is a battery operated light so that the leaves inside would not burn. We hope you enjoy this wedding decor inspiration.
