There are always so many beautiful details that come together on the wedding day. I am so glad that we were able to feature them in Emily and Travis’s wonderful album. It was so fun to see Emily and her mom again and as they turned the pages we reminisced about their special day. From Emily’s cute shoes to the stunning cake, the memories came flooding back. I am so glad that we were there to document the moments of their story.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a part of weddings?  One of my dearest friends owned a bridal salon.  Although I was designing women’s sportswear at the time, I loved accessories and she would often ask me to meet with a bride to create a custom-designed headpiece, veil, and accessories.  I fell in love working one on one and creating a fabulous finish for a bride and her gown.  Thus, the story of Bellissima Veils and  Headpieces began……

What is your background? I have a Fashion Design degree from the University of Cincinnati DAAP program.  After graduation, my career began in New York City working for a couture one-of-a-kind clothing and accessory designer specializing in painted, hand-beaded suede, leather, and silks. It was fascinating! and I loved NYC!  Then I landed an exciting job as a women’s sportswear designer with Perry Ellis.  But as love would have it, after a few years, I made my way back to Ohio and eventually Bellissima Veils and Headpieces blossomed into the perfect fit for me.

What is your favorite part of a wedding? Working one on one with a bride and creating the perfect pieces to radiate her style and personality.  Every Bride is Beautiful!  Bellissima!

Where do you go for inspiration? Each bride is my inspiration!  I create a vision and sketch ideas based on her gown selection, personality, and tone of the wedding.

What are your favorite upcoming trends? I love the variety of  bridal styles today.  Whether a bride chooses a romantic, vintage, opulent, or contemporary style gown, it allows for a lot of creativity in designing the perfect headpiece and veil. It is so exciting to see the eclectic mix of whimsical and sophisticated bridal fashion and use of accessories.

Anything else you want to share with us? I am excited to announce Bellissima Veils and Headpieces will be opening a new spacious yet intimate studio/showroom in the near future. It will be located at 8880 Cincinnati Dayton Road in the heart of Olde West Chester, Ohio.  My website is in the works, so, as for now, I can be reached at 513-919-1967 or bellissima@cinci.rr.com for an appointment.

Happy First Anniversary to Amy and Dan

Category: Misc. | April 2nd, 2012

Congratulations to Amy and Dan on their One Year Anniversary. Their wonderful ceremony was at Loveland United Methodist Church and the reception followed at Receptions Loveland. Their spring wedding was full of beautiful moments. One of my favorites was watching them see each other for the first time. You just know how in love they are! From the bubble exit to the Butler Fight Song entrance at the reception – fun was had by all! We wish you two all the very best and for many more years of happiness! To see more of their great photos check out their photos on their blog post.

The first time I met Debbie on the phone I just knew we would have so much fun working together. Her original engagement session was stormed out in November. We were both watching the weather reports closely last week to see if we would have better luck. Since they were coming from out of town I knew we wanted to make it work. On the day of their session it was a little cloudy but it hadn’t rained much -until we were a few minutes into their session. It began pouring! So instead of waiting the storm out in our cars (my phone was telling me that the storm would take an hour or so to pass) we headed down the street for coffee. It was great to get to know Adam more and to work on the timeline and location ideas for the wedding. As soon as the rain stopped we hopped in our cars and headed back up to Alms Park. When we parked I looked up and saw a rainbow! We took advantage of the rainbow and the great weather. The couple actually got engaged last year the day after St. Patrick’s Day, how cool is that! It ended up being the perfect evening with just the right temperature and the sun peeking through the clouds right before it set! Debbie and Adam thanks for sticking out the rain with me, I am so glad we did! I can’t wait for your wedding this September – hopefully after all this rain, your wedding day weather will be perfect.

Engagement books are a great way to show off more of your engagement photos. Carla and Josh were so great to photograph at Sawyer Point and I am so glad they will share these fun photos with their guests. I can’t wait for their April wedding!
