Kentucky has so many beautiful and historic locations. Keeneland in Lexington is full of traditions and southern hospitality. If you haven’t seen the paddock area and the track you are missing out! So when I was invited to join the Association of Bridal Consultants for their brunch at Keene Place followed by racing  -I couldn’t say no! Turf Catering provided a wonderful brunch which included french toast kabobs and southern chicken over fried green tomatoes. The sweet tea was served in small mason jars and the dessert included cake pops and mini pastries. We also had a wonderful favor from Martine’s Pastries – an adorable box of macaroons! Keene Place is Keeneland’s newest venue and is in one of the oldest buildings. The renovated historic home is stunning and it is perfect for a rehearsal dinner, bridal brunch, or an intimate wedding. It seats up to 56 people or 100 guest for cocktails. How fun would it be to share a truly Lexington gem with your guests and then have a fun day at the races?

Bel-wood Country Club Luncheon

Category: Misc. | April 27th, 2012

Bel-wood Country Club was in full bloom for our Perfect Wedding Guide Luncheon! From the flowering trees on the golf course to the beautiful centerpieces on each table everything looked amazing! Sandy from DessertWorks Cakery created an incredible dessert display that let us sample her many different flavors of cake and sweets. Randy and Jodi from Everlasting Sounds provided the up-lighting and logo to accent the room. The dramatic linens were from Lori at Connie Duglin and all of the fabulous centerpieces were created by Jeff from Say I Do. A special thanks to Robbin and her staff for their wonderful service and lunch! It was a very memorable experience and I hope we are invited back soon!

When Carla walked into Norman Chapel my eyes were fixed on her. She looked stunning! I have known Carla  for years and I have been so excited for her big day. To see it all come together and to work with so many talented wedding vendors really made her day wonderful. My favorite part of the day was seeing the bride and groom so happy during the ceremony! Their smiles lit up the room and you could just feel their excitement! Their reception at The Grand in Covington was decorated with a head table full of glowing candles and a fun purple cake! For the cake cutting I couldn’t help but giggle when the groom smashed the cake in his own face! That has never happened – ever at any of the weddings I have photographed – but what a fun idea! And then there was the chicken dance! You know it will be a great reception when the bride puts crazy, fun dancing on her timeline! Carla and Josh, I wish you two all the very best in life! Thank you for choosing us to photograph your special day! And a big thank you goes out to all of the wonderful vendors who made the day truly fabulous!

Meet Baby Jack

I just love getting to see my brides again when they have their sweet little babies! It was so great to meet Jack and to hear how Beth and her family are adjusting to their new baby. Jack is a big guy and at two weeks he is almost back up to his 9 pound 4 oz. birth weight. And don’t you just love his John Deere boots? He was so much fun to photograph and to just hold in-between poses. Congratulations to Beth and Adam on their handsome little man! (To see their wedding photos from 2009 be sure to check out their blog post – you might just see a green tractor!)

When I pulled up to the Mt. Airy Forest arboretum area I was so excited! The flowering spring trees looked amazing with the perfect golden hour lighting! When Alysha and Mark arrived I already had my favorite spots picked out. These two are such a beautiful couple! It was so easy to photograph them together because you can tell that they adore each other! I can’t wait for their May wedding!
