Did you know that we have had a blog since 2007? It is hard to believe that back then I didn’t even know what the word blog actually meant. I remember taking a workshop with a very famous photographer (Becker) and he said we had a to have a blog to help grown our business. But what if someone sees we are on vacation and breaks in or what if I don’t have enough to say? He took those excuses and turned them upside down. He showed me how powerful a blog can be and how it can help tell the story of your business. Photography is about storytelling and what better way to show our work than to have a timely post about a recent wedding?

The biggest question I am asked by other wedding professionals is how to market their business. My short answer – blog. So I decided to give a workshop and opened the doors to anyone who wanted to come. I crafted a presentation that included my most often questions and ways to make a blog successful. So far we have received many positive responses and I am super excited that the class is busy working on their new blogs. I can’t wait to hear their voices in their blog posts! My friend and fellow photographer, Mandy from Mandy Leigh Photography, also spoke about SEO (search engine optimization) and she did a great job! She also took a couple photos of me speaking. And a big thank you to Mary at Pebble Creek for hosting the workshop.
