Saturday afternoon I walked in and fell in love with Christina’s wedding dress. The layers of lace looked amazing on Christina! After getting ready photos we headed downstairs to do a first look with her groom. After a few fun photos inside we headed outside to fountain square. Downtown was hopping with Red’s Fest, Santa fest and free carriage rides. We had to get a fun photo with Santa! Next we headed to the Bell Event Centre for their festivities. Their candlelit ceremony was so beautiful! My favorite part was watching the couple light the unity candle. Their friend Erika was the officiant and is also the person who introduced them! After the ceremony the couple enjoyed cocktails and h’ordeuvres with their guests on the patio while the room became transformed into a winter wonderland. The centerpieces with white baby’s breath looked amazing! The reception began with a welcome and then a prayer led by the brides mother. My favorite part of the reception had to be the surprise groom’s cake! Christina told me about it at our final meeting and I love how everything turned out. During the mother and son dance red solo cups were passed out to their friends guarding the cake. Once they moved the groom saw his beer pong cake! Christina and Chris, we wish you two all the very best. We had so much fun with you from learning about what different wedding flowers mean to being photographed with a bunch of Santa Clauses! And thank you to their wonderful family and friends who were so great to photograph.

Hot off the press – Carla and Josh’s wedding is featured in the Perfect Wedding Guide. When I received the new publication I flipped to the real wedding section and found some of our favorite photos! When Carla walked into Norman Chapel my eyes were fixed on her. She looked stunning! I have known Carla  for years and I have been so excited for her big day. To see it all come together and to work with so many talented wedding vendors really made her day wonderful. My favorite part of the day was seeing the bride and groom so happy during the ceremony! Their smiles lit up the room and you could just feel their excitement! Their reception at The Grand in Covington was decorated with a head table full of glowing candles and a fun purple cake! For the cake cutting I couldn’t help but giggle when the groom smashed the cake in his own face! That has never happened – ever at any of the weddings I have photographed – but what a fun idea! And then there was the chicken dance! You know it will be a great reception when the bride puts crazy, fun dancing on her timeline! Carla and Josh, I wish you two all the very best in life!
